Salt dough ornaments are a classic! Three ingredients to make a lifelong memory-what’s not to love?! Use this recipe to create your ornaments!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Salt
  • 4 cups of Flour
  • 1.5 cups of Water
  • Cookie Cutters (optional)

Start by mixing all three ingredients together. Keep mixing and kneading until it becomes a dough. Then roll out the dough to a ¼ inch thick. Once it is rolled out, you can then cut out your ornaments! Cookie cutters come in handy but are not necessary. Remember to cut a hole at the top to insert a string so you can hang your ornament. The easiest way to make the perfect size hole is by using a straw. This batch makes about 2 dozen ornaments.

You can decorate these however you’d like! Paint, add glitter, your handprints or your favorite furry friend’s paw print! The possibilities are endless!

Don’t feel like destroying your kitchen? I completely understand! Check out our easy Santa countdown printable! It’s a fun way to countdown the last 12 days of Christmas. Simply add a cotton ball each day and once his beard is full, Christmas will be here! You can get the printable here.
